Advice on internet transaction.
Discussion
On 25/03/09 I ordered a couple of tyres from a well known internet tyre supplier with my Visa.
Everything went through ok, confirmation email etc and I got the tyres a few days later.
I then get an email on 21/05/09 telling me that they could not get payment and asking if I could do a bank transfer.
I didnt really understand this as the card is nowhere near its limit, anyway I went to my bank and I was told that it will cost £25 to do a transfer which Im not overly impressed with so I phoned the tyre supplier back with the offer to send a cheque and to try the card again.
Im then told they will only accept a bank transfer, by this point im starting to tear my hair out so I phone my credit card company to find out why the transaction didnt go through. They tell my that its the tyre suppliers fault because they waited over seven days between the order being placed and the money being collected.
So, they want me to pay for a £25 bank transfer when it was their fault all along!
Im not sure what to do, any ideas? I clarified with the supplier on the phone that it was their fault and i was told to put it in an email.

Tell them to p
s off and you'll send them a cheque. It's their fault if they didn't process the payment quickly enough. Why should you have to jump through hoops or lose out financially due to their cock up?
But make a point of knocking off the cost of the envelope and stamp and any phone calls you had to make to resolve their cock up

Im sure i read somewhere that a firm cant refuse payment, even if you turn up with a bin bag full of 5p`s.
Not sure if thats right though.
The funny thing about the free tyre part is that they also sent me two other tyres at the same time (the wrong size though)that i didnt even order!
They fit my mates Midget fine!
Thanks for the advice folks.
