The mods may close this or transfer it to another forum but, in an attempt to reach a wider PH audience, I am posting it here.

There is live coverage of a Soyuz launch on NASA TV at the moment. Lift off is scheduled for 10.45 BST.

I like the hi-tech solution to the fact that they can't reach the instrument panel from their couches - a long stick smile.

2days to reach the ISS. What do you do for two days??

Nice clean take off, none of that horrible poisonous dense cloud you get from the Shuttle's SRBs.
In fact the only trail was a faint brown one - no doubt from the kerosene fuel being burned (just like a Saturn V).

It was nice to see the brief (about 5 seconds) vapour trail - something you don't see with the Shuttle because it is smothered by the SRB exhaust smoke.

If they had PH they could simply whinge endlessly and pointlessly about topics from which the vast majority of sane people have moved on.

Three.

The Soyuz is small and cramped. The crew module is much smaller than an Apollo capsule.

Crew details from Spaceflightnow.com below:

In a long-awaited milestone for the International Space Station, a Russian Soyuz rocket scheduled for launch early Wednesday will ferry three fresh crew members to the lab complex, boosting its crew size to six for the first time.

The Soyuz TMA-15 spacecraft, mounted atop the same launch pad used by Yuri Gagarin at the dawn of the space age, is scheduled for takeoff from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 6:34:49 a.m. EDT.

Soyuz commander Roman Romanenko, son of a Russian cosmonaut, will be strapped into the center seat, flanked by European Space Agency astronaut Frank De Winne of Belgium and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Robert Thirsk, a shuttle veteran.

I actually watched it on NASA TV as the quality is slightly better.
Their broadcast is about 30 seconds behind real time though.

Maybe it floated out of reach? They're well prepared though eh?

Could you reach your wireless keyboard if it floated up to the ceiling and you were strapped into your seat? hehe
