Nearly got in to a fight, what would you have done?

Walking back from lunch today, a group of 4, 16/17 year olds almost ran me over on their push bikes. I told them to use the cycle lane (half was for pedestrians half for bikes).
The bigger of the four through down his bike and stomped towards me telling to f*** off and started pushing me about. His mates then joined in shuving me around and calling me a pussy. It was clear they were looking for a fight. I'm not a small bloke (6'2") and probably could have beat the living crap out of all of them. I didn't rise to their bait and walked away. But I sooooooooo wanted to hit them. I know I did the right thing as they could have had knives etc. but it really pissed me off that idiots like them think it fun to go around being total cocks and will go bragging that they scared some bloke.

You should have beat them all up.
I'd have chinned the first one then moved onto his mates.
I'd have performed a inverted spinning bird kick removing the assailants lower jaw
I'd have one inch punched the first one and sklittled him into his mates
Shoot them in the face
Nuke them from orbit
etc etc etc.
You did the adult and sensible thing in walking away from it. Yes you could have probably beat the crap out of all of them. It's never worth the risk and bother IMO

You could have ended up being stabbed or stamped to death by the scum.
My natural instinct would have been to create carnage, but the older and wiser I get the more tend to walk away smiling to myself in the knowledge that they'll still be scum in several years.

I would have probably hit the first one and taken my chances, possibly not punched him as in all fairness its a rare day you can knock all the fight out of someone with one punch either kicked him in the nuts or hit them with the hardest thing you have (usually your head if there close enough)
If it came to it you would have had to deal with 3-4 pissed off and riled up lads so realistically and no keyboard warrior stuff in hand you probably did the safest thing, I don't think I would have kept my cool though.

yep - did the correct thing to walk away!
Of course you'll get the 'punch in the throat always works' replies but when the remaining 3 each pull a knife then you've not much chance have you!

Though now the hardest part is simmering down and just getting on with life....

Had (lost touch now) a mate whose husband went to break up a pub fight. 5 minutes later he had bled to death on the pavement outside the pub.
Never worth the risk.
