The mornings on the tube are getting unbearable, not cause of the heat, but more down to the members of the public who get on in the morning and absolutely fking stink of BO...

ITS 7:30 IN THE fkING MORNING

If you are alergic to washing then have a pikey shower or something, just dont get on the tube smelling like crotch-rot in the mens locker room and expect everyone to put up with it.

One person was so bad this morning I had to leave the carriage I was in and use the adjacent one.

For the love of god, just have a shower before going to work... thank god I dont have to work with any of these dirty fkers...

Why does this always happen, can people not smell themselves and think:

'st... I smell, thats embarassing, must get deodarant and use it to get rid of it before someone notices'?

Some people genuinely don't notice that they smell.

Some people genuinely don't care.

Im not one to generalise based on race, but was the offender a man of Indian or pakistani heritage?

Im sorry, but the good (and polite) folks from this region are over represented in the BO stakes round my area. Mainly shop assistants or owners, reasonably well dressed, Castrol GTX for hair gel but absolutley wreaking.

Its not popular, but its true.

What line do you catch? I've been commuting for about a year now and found in the summer the only way is either get the first tube in the morning and look very keen at work (ruins your whole week getting up so early) or make sure you always get into the carriage that has the window down between the connecting trains (normally someone is stood there) either way I agree its unbearable which is why I try and drive as much as possible!

(I've heard that Bo Jo is trying to incorporate air-con onto new carriages)

I couldnt identify the offender this time as I know full well that indian (usually the ones bought her to help do IT) have an affliction to using deodrant and the spices ooze out of their skin, but this was proper BO smell.

Other candidates was a builder, but he looked like he had had a shower and a person of african descent and I know from my friends who are of the same descent that soap and detergent in general doesnt react well to their skin and so they just smell instead of using special sprays.

The rest were suits all shaved and clean cut.

The northern line and the victoria line are the ones I take and I usually try and stand next to the window so the window is blowing in, if I get the wrong end of the carriage then the BO smell gets sucked towards you...

And dont even start me on the sweet sickly smell of booze breath in the morning.

I'm indian, and I find that it tends to be the indian / pakistani's that are from India / pakistan that are the ones that can tend to have b.o problems - most if not all british born asians that I know are as clean/cleaner than most white people I know...

I do totally agree though, when I used to live in london, Northern line is really bad becuase it is very warm in summer, it can be REALLY bad!

Could it be the train that stank rather than the passengers? Also it could be suits that haven't been cleaned recently rather than the wearer being dirty and smelly?

Ah, the tube in London in summertime.

Yet another entry on the lengthy list of reasons I never want to work there again.

my ex wife got into trouble at work once for buying a colleague soap and deodorant for her birthday, she sent it with no name on, but it was worked out. she was asked to be a little more considerate of others feelings, she asked if the person concerned could be talked to so they were more considerate of other peoples noses etc. smile

If its between you getting cool air in your seat and me getting a mouthful of BO that you could chew on.... you will lose everytime... besides you have air vents next too your location anyway

They could be on there way home from work? No need for stinking - but possibly just done a hard nights work, and cannot wait to get home and have a shower?

Why would they be going into central London then, plus if that were the case they should be made to carry a can of spray round with them.

Yes I do, before you get all high and mighty... If I start to smell then Im quite happy to mask it until I can get home and get a shower.

Sorry I thought you said this was Victoria Line/Northern Line? My mistake - I did not realize the stinky people were getting off in central london, you never said that. I assumed they were heading home to the suburbs of Walthamstow/Brixton/Edware/Clapham etc.

Fair point re the deoderant, as I said - no need to be stinking. All I was trying to say is they possibly had just finished working, as you were beginning your day.
