Does anybody else find this confusing at all? People have entire conversations where apparently they are turning around every few seconds. If there are 3 or 4 people involved it must be really difficult knowing who's talking to who what with all the turning round.

Almost as confusing as someone who "went and said".

How could they, if they were no longer present?

Unless they start off with their backs to each other ? Then it would work - for a while.

Bloke I used to work with used that phrase loads. I always wondered why the person he was talking about wasn't facing him in the first place. Or turned round when they said the next bit.

You'd think they'd get dizzy really.

If they kept alternating the person at the rear you could keep it going ?

No, fortunately I never get confused by a simple turn of phrase. What else confuses you? Shoelaces? Breathing?

Literally - still amazes me how many stupid people out there who don't know the meaning of the word, even if they think they do.

I remember someone saying, "the view was amazing, my eyes literally hit the floor".

Ha, that's so true. I've heard people use that in the wrong context so many times it literally blows my mind.

Your aggressive response seemingly out of the blue confuses me. Have I wronged you?

Perhaps I should elaborate - it confuses me that people use such a strange turn of phrase. Most make some sort of sense (at the end of the day == ultimately), but since people generally don't rotate when having everyday conversations I find it odd. Does that make more sense? Most other people seem to have comprehended what I meant!

That was it. Shortly before we were all in fits but not long after we simply fell about.
