Right then chaps, off to visit the Grandfather-in-law in Biaritz in July.

I have never met him before and want to take over a gift to show my appreciation to him for putting us up for a week.

Not knowing much about him other than he likes his art, can anybody put forth any suggestions for a gift around the £50 mark? He is 70 but, according to the OH, young at heart!

Instead of a present do some research on the area (trip advisor or via michelin for starters) and find a superb restaurant. Book it and tell Gramps that you've 'heard about' this fantastic restaurant and that you'd like to take him as your treat and as a thank you for his hospitality.

I'd expect the £50.00 to cover the first round of drinks wink
