I have just spent over an hour shredding junk mail and old envelopes from the last few months and reckon I've done about a third of it.
Is there a much quicker and simpler way of doing this? A decent cross cut shredder is over a hundred quid. Is it worth getting an incinerator for the garden? I am sick to death of doing this, it's such a bloody waste of life to try to ensure some arse doesn't steal my identity

If you've got loads to do there are companies that will come round to you and destroy it for you. They don't charge much, but I'm talking business levels of old paperwork not personal.
Alternatively, leave the shredder handy and do it on a daily basis instead of saving it up.

Are you some sort of hoarder? Try binning it as soon as it drops through the letterbox instead of saving it?!
Eat it?
Swap the contents of each envelope, tape it to a brick and then put it in the post with "not at this address" on it?
I love shredding stuff. My job is so incredibly dull and I'm in such a rut that I often just pick everything up thats on my desk and shred it. I like to see what the thickest wad of paper I can get through the shredder is....often it goes HNNNNNNGHHHHHHHHH and then just stops.

Change your name by Deed Poll every few months. Is there a much quicker and simpler way of doing this?
Keeps the scammers on their toes.

^as above^ - I only shred stuff with our address/bank/credit card details etc on it. Junk goes straight in the recycle, or if it's targeted sh!t with a reply paid envelope, it goes back in that with a note saying "thanks for your generous invitation, but I already have a credit card/villa holiday/etc etc" - that ticks them off, as they have to pay for receiving it...

Our local council will not accept shredded paper in the recycle bin so mine ends up with the general waste.........How stupid is that?
The local council where I am (West Wilts) have that same rule, something to do with "it could get blown about!" etc, I leave a bag full of shredded paper out for them and they have always taken it.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
