I just got an email through from Silverstone, it includes a run down on the weekends events for the F1 weekend etc.

It also includes a 15% discount on Kangaroo Tv. Now it looks quite a cool thing to have, but is it worth paying £60 for 3 days usage?

Anyone used one, was it worth it and would you suggest renting one for the weekend.

http://www.kangaroo.tv/

I did try and do a search but its fked as usual...

Edit: damn, posted in wrong section, didn't delete quick enough, sorry.

Without looking into it too closeley it probably uses similar technology to this. http://www.slingmedia.com/ opening up a port to a remote media sender can be done from your home computer to any enabled device eg iphone, phone with media player. Your pc/tv plays the program (F1) and streams it via t'internets.

In theory I can listen to all my tunes stored at home on my work pc but can't get my arse in gear to sort it out... maybe tonight.

I have hired the Tv for the past couple of years and would say it is definitely worth it, although this does depend slightly on where you are sitting.

Good for information and time spent between races. Do you have anyway of recharging it if you are there for more than 1 day?

I had one out in Singapore last year and thought it was well worth having. I had 2 socket doublers plugged in so 3 of us could listen to it.

I've been to Silverstone for the last 2 years, saw the kangaroo TV last year, if we were going this year we'd hire one (between 2 or 3 of us)

Yep, I've used Kangaroo TV in Brazil and Spain and it's a good bit of kit. Bit costly (although they were doing deals on race day in Spain last month) but does add a lot as you can see all the live timing and even select favourite drivers, go in car etc.

That said, if you're opposite a screen, have an iPhone etc that you could use to get the live timing from f1.com and use a radio to pick up Five Live for commentary then you could get a similar experience and save a few quid.

Definitely a good piece of kit.
