Swiss army knife

Back from a week on the beach and my swiss army knife is now stuck up with fruit juice, suntan lotion and sand. What's the best method of cleaning it? Will just soap and water do any harm or is there a better method?

I love Swiss Army Knives - I'm a real geek about it, and have several of all different sizes and shapes. My colleagues and friends give me stick about the fact that I always carry one, but they're always happy to borrow it when they need a knife/screwdriver/corkscrew/bottle opener/tweezers etc.

Just thought I'd share.

Oh, and the guidelines for cleaning on the website, as pointed out, are best.
