I have a large snake
Discussion
Not only in the trouser department, but in the garden department as well
Last night i walked down to the garge at the bottom of the garden to get someting out, i've not been down there for ages, so its all over grown (time to get the strimmer out i think) my trusty dog friend was ahead of me.
Now just before i got to the door, my dog stopped, looking down in the grass, so i also look down.... it was quite possibly the largest snake i have ever seen outside of a zoo!!
It was grey in color and i didn't see any markings on it really, i'm pretty sure grass snakes have black markings on them as well.
Is it a grass snake, or is it someone's pet escaped and should i be worried about going down to the garage to never return?

Is it possible that what you saw was actually a moose and not a snake as that would explain the large size?
Cheers,
The Moose.
Ps. Grass snake colouration varies a lot between individuals and they can grow suprisingly large considering many people have never seen one. I'd guess that's what it is as in fairness most pet snakes are brightly coloured or distinctive in one way or another which is why they become popular pets.

Do they get any bigger than 50cm? because i'm pretty sure this was a lot bigger than that, i'd say more like 80-90cmGassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
