Inspiration for Stag Do in Poole/Bournmouth

Please help me.. As best man in charge of organising a stag do I've got the days activity sorted out (going on speed boats in the Solent) but I'm stuck for what to do in the evening other than clubbing and then a t*tty bar in Bournmouth (we are staying in poole).
Last time I went on a stag do in Bournmouth we couldn't all get into the same club. The local Spearmnint Rhino was OK. We are all 35-40 so getting on a bit for the club scene.
Does Poole have anything happening? I'm think maybe hire a private room in a gastro type pub, have dinner then wheel a stripper for the stag. Any other suggestions or recommendations? Any advice is much appreciated..

I've just returned from organising a stag weekend in Bournemouth - a good time had by all. We spent the Saturday on the Solent in RIBs too - which went down really, really well and enthused a couple of people to sign up to a weekend's course...!
For night-life in Bournemouth, take a look at http://www.bournemouthbynight.com/. The Stag used to live in Bournemouth, so he identified 10 bars and clubs he knew, and a quick phonecall to each got us on the guestlists - removing the worry of a party of 13 blokes being turned away. Prefix that with dinner at http://www.hot-rocks.com, and the world was good.

If you head into Bournemouth avoid the 'Old Christchurch Road' end of town. I would reccomend Aruba above the pier; it's got great views, serves good food, and becomes 'very' busy later on, think it's open till 2/3, but it has a slightly older audience, so not full of students paying 99p per pint!
Then there are a couple of places near to the BIC, 1812 is a cocktail bar, BarSO has a good outside seating area, then there's a nightclub over the road called Klute if you fancy staying out till the sun comes up.
All of these places are largely devoid of rowdy students, generally down to them being a bit more expensive.
I would agree with the earlier comments about Poole, the quay only has a 'sports bar' and a Yates's, so as you can probably imagine, it can get a bit rowdy around midnight.

Did a stag in March in Bournemouth. Did a Jetski Safari during the day. Had a great laugh messing about on 70mph (indicated speed!!!) Jetski's in the morning, and the wakeboarding in the afternoon. Back to the Royal Bath for some Drinks ( rugby was on) then off into town. Wiggles i think the evening place was called..........

Yeah true, I forgot about that place, nice decor, but found it had a bit of a strange atmosphere!

I went on a BoMo stag a couple of years back. We went to Go Ape in Ringwood and karting in So'ton as they had an open endurance race. There are nearer karting tracks to BoMo though.

I grew up close-ish to Bournemouth and went back to visit friends there one weekend when the OH noticed they had a visitors guide in the train company's magazine. We took a look and it started with something along the lines of 'Bournemouth, or BoMO as it's known to the young trendy set who inhabit it...' and we both remarked that we'd never heard the term used, despite practicality having a second home there for a decade!
So, that's answered that one. It's not a myth.
Bournemouth back to Poole is an arse for cabs and expensive. You could consider Lower Parkstone for The Cow (good food, wimmin, I think you have to be wearing one item of Musto clothing to get in), Le Bateau (regular crowd, some wimmin) and Patricks (where everyone ends up after The Cow and LeBateau). There is also the Bricklayers and another pub across the road if smaller "locals" are the thing. They are within half a square mile.
Dont knock the Sandacres - great for a pint overlooking Brownsea after a day on the beach.
If youre staying in bournemouth for beers, as said above for your age group, you wont go far wrong with 1812 or Hamptons. After that, stop kidding yourself - you'll end up in a titty bar. FYEO is better than Spearmints. Alledgedly.
ETA: NONE of the locals call it BoMo. Thats embarrassing. w
ky people who holiday or have stag/hen nights down here call it BoMo. And they sound stupid.

In order of quality:FYEO - Best
Wiggle - Can be very good, can not be
Spearmint - s
teWould also recommend hiring a minibus to get you back to Poole...
