You cant pick and choose what words end up in common use, you can choose what words you choose to say though.

Despite wanting to stab anyone who uses a lot of street talk, I cant deny its in use and part of modern language.

It just amazes me that people are, generally, so objectionable to the idea that language is more fluidic than they imagine. There are a great many words now in common use that previous generations would recognise as meaning something entirely different.

I'm a stickler for grammar, in that poor grammar is an obstacle to easy communication, but new words and even spelling I find to be rather unimportant.
