Where were you when you found out about MJ?
Discussion
A friend of mine has just pointed out that the sad death of Michael is the first major star to die in our life time.
If you were born in the mid 70's, grew up with him he is as big as Elvis and John Lennon to us.
So in the tradition of these things where were you when you found out?
Ill start, i found out when i got into work this morning and i had an email from a mate. Then do you think i checked google, no of course i didnt. I check the internet resource for news.... Pistonheads

How old are you? Five? What constitutes 'major' star? Plenty of very talented people and famous people have died within my lifetime.

Lady Di? Ok, not really a star, but you know what I mean.
Remember that well....nothing else was on the tely.
I was kinda going with Musicians (they seem to have a larger following) but good point. My mum woke me up to tell me, spent the day watching the news.Remember that well....nothing else was on the tely.
The other major events were 911 and the 2006 Tsunami. I found out about 911 i was sitting in the cockpit of a Tornado carrying out a swing wing test. A fitter had a portable tv and eventually the whole of Tornado MLU shop floor was huddled around it.
The Tsunami i will always remember as its my birthday. Again spent it watching sky news.
