The urge to do something wrong...
Discussion
A friend of mine builds cars, mainly hot rods and pickups etc. He has some fantastic machines in his yard sometimes and being able to see them up close is really inspiring.
However, as with my urge to jump off bridges when i stand too close, or to hop over the bannister at the Buchanan Galleries if i peer over the edge from the top floor - i seem to get the desire to kick them as well. Of course this is a ridiculous prospect, but sometimes it feels like "this is so incorrect i might actually give it a go".
When i was browsing TV's for my new house in Curry's there was the temptation to fly kick a 46" Panasonic flat on to it's back..
What the hell is wrong with me? I was talking to a friend about this and he says he gets it too. He doesn't have a fear of heights, he has a fear of jumping.
Bizarre. Thankfully i've never attempted any of the above.

I'm the same, i go cliff jumping a lot.
Jumping from heights varying 30ft - 75ft.
I can stand on the highest one & not be scare of the height, could sit there all day long.
But it takes a lot for me to throw myself off! (That usually gets the jumping off high stuff out my system).
If someone tell's me not to do something i ALWAYS want to do the opposite!

Similar here. Amongst other things, I regularly have to stifle the strong urge to punch boring people at meetings, or throw wine or food over dull people at dinner parties....

I know what you mean... I wouldn't do it (I hope), but at uni I was in halls on the 16th floor with huge windows that opened flat. On a number of occasions you'd get the "I just could, what's to stop me" feeling. Similar 'what would happen/why not' feeling associated with punching old people.Psychos of the world unite!

I'll admit that, whenever I see one of those electric mobility scooters that old people use parked up somewhere, I have strong urge to steal it. Also I occasionally walk home along a path beside a river where a lot of people go fishing, and I sometimes get the urge to kick one of the fishermen hard into the river
Why do I want to do these things? I think it's just a case of "Well nobody would ever do that, so I wonder what would happen if I did?"

I had that a couple of times a few months ago - not particularly boring people per se, just the conversation was. Could almost visualise smacking the relevant people in the side of the head, just to see what would happen.I've never hit anyone in my life.
Very odd.
