.........erm yes they do. I chucked a house spider out last night, but decided to see what would happen if i threw it on a garden spiders web. Well the feisty little garden spider came running out, strummed his web a bit. Circled the house spider for a while then went mental and wrapped the house spider up before taking his parcel to a safe spot before biting it and eating it. Am i a freak for watching this or am i freak for photographing it?

Does that mean Spiders Webs have a unique genetic code that makes them non-sticky to themselves but sticky to other Spiders?

Harsh!
IIRC the Straight bits are not stick and the circly bits are.

Not quite but each spider spaces the sticky blobs to match it's stride and hence can easly step over them itself. nerd

I used to catch flies in glasses and release them into a spiders web, bloody cool to watch the spider at speed come out of the corner, wrap it up and eat it!
