From time to time someone comes along and invents something really useful and life changing. Good on them I say.

At the other end of the scale there are some really stty products out there being marketed on television etc which are pointless, useless and a waste of money. Certain exercise products come to mind notably the Irongym pull-up bar I've just seen on the television being demonstrated by someone who built his body in a real gym.

These are the products being sold with an over enthusiastic voice over and being made out to be much more than they really are.

So what's the most useless product you can think of being sold the most often as the most useful?

i bought an extra large for extra snuggie capacity, also that means I can bat one off under it without my fellow cult members knowing.

Furry dice?

Suppose you had invented them and went on Dragon's den to persuade them to invest. What possible arguments could you advance?

Yet someone obviously raised enough finance to build a factory to produce them!

WTF!!!

Dishwashers

I mean how hard is it to just clean a plate? That's without taking into account the cost, loading, unloading, waiting for a cycle to end before you get your clean cup...
Utterly useless things, just do it yourself unless you have a very big family or run a hotel.

Bread Makers

Scales, Kenwood mixer, floured worktop, kids helping, sorted.
We gave ours away.

+1 on those two.

Plus bloody effing electric plug in air freshner thingys. In fact all air freshner products full stop. Bloody poi pourri, you're paying £5.00 for dried leaves you moron! They're laughing at you! If your house stinks open a window.

It doesn't matter what you do if you have baby though. Two years from now people will still turn up, sniff as they walk in and say,
"You have a kid, don't you?"

Or air fresheners with motion sensors. Who exactly wakes up in the morning and decides they need on of those?

I'm on the ipod but do a youtube search for 'comfort stick'

It's quite shocking, but alas, a sign of the times.

Surely you just have to switch on to QVC or whatever other shopping channel to see the s***e that someone has managed to sell.

-1 on the dishwasher, and while I've heard loads of people who don't have one say they don't see the point, this is the first time I've heard a dishwasher owner say they'd be without one.
