Serious question - there have been now quite a few astronauts of both sexes on space missions, some of long duration, so has anyone 'christened' space yet?

Cheers

It's been rumoured but not confirmed.

Privacy is a bit hard to come by in current spacecraft and space stations.

It was done by the russians iirc, you can read about it in the book elephants on acid - its a very good book, details some of the weirdest experiments known. Everything from giving a dog two heads, seeing whether women are more attractive at closing time and sex in space, it was tried in one of those vomet rockets rather than on the ISS.

The Uranus Experiment wink Granted, it was filmed on the vomit comet, but it's 'zero gravity' none the less.

If you are going to delve into Hollywood "space epics", then Barbarella probably got there first.

Are you thinking of the "vomit comet" Zero-G trainers. If that's the case

a) they don't go into space

b) they only provide about 30 seconds of Zero G. However, that would probably be long enough for most PHers.

The astronaut zipped up his spacesuit and said, 'That's one small shag for a man...'.

I bet it was a cosmonaut.

They don't call their spacecraft Soyuz for nothing ("Soyuz" is the Russian for "Union").
