Please help me find a wedding venue
Discussion
After years of searching i have finally founded a lady silly enough to consent to become Mrs Pugwash, but i am struggling to find somewhere to do the dastardly deed.
We are looking for a beautiful secluded spot away from motorways/ main roads/ plane routes, for a largish marquee and some parking. Great view is what we are looking for in the south of england - excluding kent and cornwall.
Can you guys help.
p.s. mrs pugwash to be has FAR more money than me
she's welcome to half of everything i own- currently to include a maky T-shirt and a dodgy Abba Vinyl
p.p.s trying to avoid hotels and "wedding venues" as much as possible- so somewhere quiet, and hopefully privately owned.
thanks chaps and chappesses

Admittedly this is Cambridge rather than Kent XD
This place is right next door to where I work and currently has a big marquee up in the back garden:

Again, it's in Cambridgeshire I'm afraid - but it's where my wife and I recently got married this year. It's a lovely country house with a marque and the owners make you feel completely at home with the place.

The first time I got married was in [url]Dryburgh Abbey|http://www.dryburgh.co.uk//url]. Yes, it's in the borders area of Scotland but it has to be seen to be believed.
I fished for salmon on the banks of the Tweed before the ceremony (with a pint of 80/- by my side) and partied on late into the night at the awesome hotel. Ensure they organise a Céilidh for you (pronounced kay-lee). It's line dancing for the drunk, traditional at a Scottish wedding and absolutely hilarious.
I'm as English as they come, by the way- but the Scots know how to party!
Give your friends enough notice and they can make a holiday of it too.

In West Sussex, a huge gardens with lake, ruins etc, no house or anything else attached, just put up your marquee

Slaugham is lovely, I got married there 3 years ago. If you book at Slaugham you are tied into using one Marquee company. The owner insists on that as other companies messed him about in the past. Despite it's proximity to Gatwick and the A23 it is very quiet there.
