You are getting old. Once you hit 21, time speeds up.

It scares me too. I find the more occupied I am the faster time goes by. Or did you mean "st, times going by I'd better get some stuf done"?

I have a theory:

As the years progress 1 year becomes a much smaller percentage of your total years to date, and is subconciously percieved as such. To a 10 year old a year is 10% of their life span; at 100 it's just 1%.

Did you not notice how at the age of 26 you grew man-tits, starting growing nasal hair and christmas seemed to come twice a year?

We park our cars in exactly the same garage. I reel this off to folk too, each increment of time viewed as a proportion of that already experienced.

Reality for the OP (and indeed us all) is that's how it is.

Get drunk as much as you can and erase as much memory as you can seems to be the only solution.

It's like a loo-roll, the closer you get to the end, the faster it spins. AND you get shat on quite a bit

I was thinking about this last week. If you divide your average life expectancy...say 70 by 24 to represent the 24 hour clock it really hits home.

Say youre 35, then you've reached midday..I'm 51 so now I've hit 6pm....Now I'm depressed!

OP - cast your memory back into the midst of time. What did you really enjoy doing?

Get yourself back to it. Or try something new and get out of your (dis)comfort zone.

Whats even more depressing is, if you are 51 now, and you can remember what you were doing 19 years ago, (doesnt seem long ago does it) you only have that time again before you croak!

i'm 24 and i feel old, its like a halfway house, your not quite 30 yet, but your not that far from being one of the kids being refused entry to a club on a friday night.

It makes it worse when you speak to a 17 year old and you have no idea what they are talking about, words that where considered uncool years ago are now cool and they also consider you to be old...

God knows how i'll feel when i am 30!

As The Specials once sung, I think you've just done 'too much, too young'. I was the same (without the bikers) but went on to have an awesome time in my 30s biggrin

good news is you'll live a lot longer....100+ will be fairly common by 2050 and getting to your 90's (if your 20/30 now) should be quite possible.

only down side is that anyone with less than £800k in a pension will be doing it via poorly!

This is why you are best doing more the older you get... all those students going travelling and living a diverse life while younger are just setting themselves up for a bland and fast feeling later life winkbiggrin
