Storms in the SE tonight

Looking at the old lightning detector - I can see 4 storms coming over from France. I think we're gonna get hit hard

Been watching it all night - the 4 storms have merged in to 2. (the storms behind are probably just echoes)

I'm not enough of a weather nerd to be properly "knowledgeable", but don't some French sourced storms run out of energy over the channel because its much cooler than land?
