The wife was given two tickets to the Waddington Airshow near Lincoln this weekend. We were plannning to go but think it will be too much for babygti.

I know its short notice but does anyone want two tickets? Worth £21 each on the gate.

Collection from PE12

Email me if interested - can be collected tonight or tomorrow morning if interested.

My advice is don't bother going. Waste of time!

I know I was one of them and my experience and that of many others was bitter disappointment.

Sorry but its true.

Why was it disappointing? What was actually wrong with it?

If only everyone took that advice, my Dad wouldn't have to be on standby sitting in a riot van with some equally bored members of the fuzz. hehe

Why does there need to be a riot van on standby for an air show? in the history of air shows has there ever been a riot?

Have a look at the XH558 thread and VULCAN in the Nirthants forum.

I've been at three airshows where aircrft crashed (two fatally) and believe me, rioting was the last thing on the spectators' minds.

In fact, everything goes strangely quiet when something like this happens and the crowd becomes very subdued.

I too was in a riot van - however, my serial, like all the other serials present, was there for traffic duties - control junctions on outgoing traffic, deal with the public, be on standby in case of emergency - for evacuations, crowd control etc.

We were never briefed for any 'riot' or other, or else it would have been PSU kit, not traffic jackets.

Were the Red Arrows there today or not?

I actually saw them fly over Melksham in Wiltshire today heading in formation towards London.
