Naa, you know when you're in England when people go crazy in their cars over the smallest things biggrin

Drove in Morocco for a week or so, horning and flashing lights for warnings etc are the norm here.

Flash a car hogging lance 3 at 2am, moves across and puts his foot down :/

Why has the horn and flashing lights become such an insult, I swear it would be less insulting to piss on the lane hoggers children than to flash full beam at the lane hogger..

You live about ten miles south of me, I have my windows open and am on the sofa with shorts and t-shirt. I would suggest you are being a bit precious.

The whole country panics because the temperature gets to 36
The whole country panics because the temperature gets to 0
The whole country panics because there is an inch of rain
The whole country panics because there is a 1/4 inch of snow

I think we should try adopting the americans way of thinking, and letting everyone have the right to bear arms. Just think about it for a minute. People wouldnt be quite as quick to jump down each others throats, as they could whip out a gun and shoot you in the face if they so desired. Gangs of hoodies/thugs might think twice about mugging someone if they turn around and start waving a gun.
Then theres the fact the goverment might actually pay more attention to what people want, because if they get mad, they might start shooting stuff up, including their second homes etc.

Just a thought tongue out

You don't know when you're well off - where I live there have been TWO earthquakes, ONE of our favourite restaurants was held up at gunpoint Pulp Fiction style ("if any of you M-F'ers moves I'll execute every M-F'ing last one of you...") ,at least a FOOT of rain, and a mini hurricane - ALL IN THE SAME WEEK. Gotta love the tropics...

You know you're in England when ...

You point out to someone that what they're doing is one or more of:

- dangerous to others
- illegal
- ignorant of others
- very rude
- highly discourtious
- massively out of order
- antisocial

And they tell you to fk off and perhaps threaten you with violence.

You don't have the roving gangs of ASBO collectors in normal neighborhoods like you do in the UK. How many times have I read on here about someone who lives in a nice area bhing about little shlts causing damage and destruction?

That doesn't happen where I live and I don't live in Beverly Hills.

The street crime in the US is confined to certain no-go/ghetto/tenderloin regions of cities. Now idealistic self righteous Europeans have been judging the US about this for years, however, in light of all the myriad of threads such as these
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Plastered all over these boards shows that tts who want 'social housing and estates' near more afluent neighborhoods are misguided and all that happens is that bitter jealousy ensues (which is probably worse in the UK than other places anyway) with police not bothering to lift a finger.
Or rapists breaking into houses and attacking the occupants, raping the wives repeatedly only to be given 4 year sentences -show that the UK ha a serious problem. This is a far cry from here where police still do things about these crimes- because they are crimes. Ok, so America has Ghettos such as the Gary Indiannas and Flint Michigan, well guess what? After living in dumps like Leeds and in Coventry and having to put up with this kind of ste, I can sleep just fine knowing these ghettos exist here.
