I'm heading over to Canada for some time next week and was wondering if there was a SIM card some of you regular travellers could point me towards.
I'm not looking for a contract and will be there for a while so want a Canadian number when I'm there...

I was over in Vancouver in 2007 and bought a Fido PAYG phone to use for three months - it was very easy to set up, and you could buy top-up vouchers from almost anywhere. Just be aware that the tariff system in North America means that you're charged for incoming calls (or at least that was the case when I was there).

Here's their "PrePaid" page - scroll down to 'Option 2'

Yes, beware of tariff system, i was also FIDO and very good to use.

Also a lot of their technology is not SIM card based, but if you are taking an unlocked phone from the UK with you then FIDO will work fine, that is what i did.
