Stop reporting on the healines and try and do your job and write a balanced view, BALANCED fkING VIEW YOU IDIOTS! Remember when you were at Uni studying this st and you were not corrupted?

Now try again, you sting fking morons.

7/10. I would of like to have seen more amusing variations in the swearing.

While I agree that the media like to sensationalise things, I wouldn't agree that they are responsible for increase the number of people carrying knives. Those people aren't the sort to read newspapers or look into crime figures, even even watch the news on TV.

It's basically due to an arms race - one person gets a knife, all the others have to get one 'for protection'.

Do you not think a lot of this "I need a knife" stems from public paranoia that is perputated by the media?

We constantly tell children how dangerous the world is and then we're surprised when they think they need a knife?

I just want to walk up to someone doing a report and in my worst Australian accent say "You call that a knife? This is a knife!"

And now, because of media ballcocks, combined with government knee-jerk simpleton legislation, it is illegal for a law-abiding citizen who has never been in any kind of trouble or violence to carry a Leatherman multitool, for example.

So once again, the liberties of the law-abiding are restricted by ridiculous law-making that makes the sum total of fk all difference to the crime levels.

Great.
