OK...so tomorrow I'm driving my g/f to her home town for the first time since we moved out. She thinks we are just going for a visit, walk along the beach etc and then lunch at her fav restaurant. But with a little help from a diamond solitaire I'm hoping she will say yes to the big question. So, I'm at home just now trying to pack an overnight bag for Saturday night (booked a nice hotel near her home town). Obviously she doesn't know any of this, but my God what do you pack for the missus?? I haven't got a fking clue, she is a bit specific about what she wears with what and when. So far I've got 2 pairs of knickers ( my choice - so they aren't the comfy ones she would probably like !) and a hairbrush. I have no idea what makeup I should put in, should I put in skirts/dress or her skinny designer jeans with a nice top....help me - she will be home in about an hour or so...

cheers guys.

It doesn't matter, she'll not like what you've chosen.

Just pack a selection of stuff then you cant be to wrong. However dont pack anything she might want before now and when you leave, (hair brush etc) or you will be rumbled, or acussed of being some sort of perve if she finds you stashing her stuff. Oh dont forget make up, she wont be impressed showing her new ring off the next day with no face on. Good luck...

Does she keep clutching her stomach and moaning? If so, you need to go into the bathroom cabinet and get out the things that look like torpedoes. She will only have around 12 hours supply on her person.

Take everything. All of it. Every last little bit of make-up/toiletries and every scrap of clothing.

And a pre-nup.

All her make up, all her beauty stuff, all her shoes, handbags and all of her clothes. In fact everything....

Van rental is very reasonable these days.

rofl you're fked mate, doesn't matter what you pack, she will disagree.

I know this doesn't help you any.

Hopefully this will, although im no Fashion Guru.

Put in some nice designer jeans and a low V-neck/low cut black top and some sandles with black straps. 1 outfit.

obviously i don't know her wardrobe so what dresses does she have? style, colour etc.
Same info needed for tops and skirts and shoes.

first outfit, every woman has (I think?)

ETA Forgot about the makeup thing, can't help you there, im lucky enough that my OH doesn't wear it. woohoo

Better than my attempt at a spur of the moment luxury break in Jersey.

Had been having a drink or two prior to getting her collected from work and when she opened the suitcase prior to dinner at The Royal she was none to pleased to find two tambourines and a dressing gown in it.

Oh well. Much fun.

Thanks so far ! I have been looking around the back of her wardrobe - not taking anything she might miss tonight. Will try get out of her later what she intends to wear to the beach and restuarant, its a bit pricey so she will want something nice to wear. When i asked earlier what I got was a whole lot of female st, e.g Well if its nice I'll put this on with that, if it's rainy I'll put this on with that...I fking turned off even when I was trying to pay attention. Wh yare they so fking picky ? i went down shops before coming home from work, went into shuh..new boots, went a couple of clothes shops, shirt and jeans bought. Never tries them on - took me half an hour. Annoying but you got to love them. Ive sent her mum a text asking advice - she knows because someone has to watch the dog ! Thanks for the good luck's.

Cheers guys

ETA - she will fking hate what I've put in anyway, so fk it the sexiest undies are going in...for her - not me.

Er...don't pack anything...if she says no, you'll be heading straight home again, if she says yes then by rights you ought to be rutting all night like Duracell rabbits with Parkinsons disease.

Lol at this thread! laugh

Sensible answer:

Standard toiletries
make up - might be difficult as she'll probably carry some of it with her?
One pair of smart trousers
One pair of jeans
a couple of day time tops (t-shirts and the like)
a couple of evening tops
one skirt
a dress
undies (inc. a pair of tights for if she wants to wear them with the skirt/dress)
Dont forget jewellery - necklaces, ear-rings and bracelet
Shoes. Minefield but for the love of god, don't forget shoes. Casual shoes, smart shoes, strappy shoes.

Make sure that the evening tops you take aren't long sleeved - sounds daft but, assuming she says yes, she wont want anything that covers over the ring!

Also, try to make sure the clothes that you do pick match each other in some way so she can really pick and choose.

I know thats a bluddy lot but, hey, we're women and we're allowed to take seventeen more outfits than we need to?!

Think that should cover all bases.. wink
