Stumbled across Brand on the box last night and decided to knuckle down and try to watch him.

Managed about five minutes before I had to give up. He was trying to do a Harry Hill, I think.

Not only was he unfunny, he was embarrassingly unfunny.

Can any fans here explain why they find him funny?

PS...does he wear a mask? His face looks rather stiff....

I agree with you. I just think he comes across as trying to be funny all the time and epically fails. What also beats me is why do women find him so attractive? He looks like he has'nt washed for 3 months and dresses like a tramp.

He just isn't funny. In fact he's excruciating to watch.

Five minutes! Give yourself a pat-on-the-back that's beyond the terms of endurance for me.

He was funny in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but that's about it.

I'm yet another one who wonders why most women find him so sexy confused I mean, I can well understand why women find Brad Pit or George Clooney sexy, but Russell Brand? WTF?
Its because he is on TV and that is all.

If he was not famous and he walked down the street they would not even look twice.

If he worked in the office they would not even invite him to the office party.

but the biggest thingf he has going for him now is that he has had a string of good looking GF's and for some reason that really turns the birds on. They want to be added to the same list.

What amuses me is all these people that seem to dress like him with their awful bushy long haircuts. Saw two of these types the other week, it was like someone walking down the road holding a mirror, they looked exactly the same. What on earth makes them think it's a good look?

I find him funny. I can't explain why. I just do. In the same way that I find Lee Evans spectacularly unfunny.
As for the look, ignore the hair and he's a good looking guy. He chooses that look to stand out. The muppets that copy him will never tand out for that reason - they are copying him. He did it to be different. It's known as Peacocking.

One of my cousins friend's tries hard to be his absolute spitting image. It was working well with the girls (they were 18 and therefore daft as brushes) until I and another couple of friends bumped into them and started ripping the absolute pi**.
Honestly, it was tragic. I should probably feel bad that I lost him a guaranteed sh*g, but it was far too amusing not to!

Personally a bit hit and miss for me. Until I saw his most recent stand-up on C4 a few weeks ago. Was absolutely pi**ing myself, there was a particular bit when he was describing having a threesome with a girl and his mate when he accidentally got a bit of spunk on his mates leg, leading to his mate chasing him round the room trying to get him back as it were. The imagery was enough to have me in stitches. Comedy is subjective I guess!

I believe the women like him cos quite a few other female celebs have described him as being rather good in bed and exceptionally well endowed. He doesn't brag like some of us, he has references!

I guess to women he is the equivalent of whomever you secretly lust after (Helen Mirren, Raquel Welch, Sophia Loren or Stephanie Beacham in my case)

I guess lusting after those particular women pretty well degines my age group...

I must admit he's one of my favorite comics.... like others have said, its hard to put your finger on why. Its a bit of a Marmite situation i suppose.

In a way i'm pleased to say i 'get' him...... I can see why some don't - and if you're one of them its a shame because you're missing out.

OK, i'm ready for it.... Bring on the abuse. boxedin

I watched him a couple of times before his epic radio fail and thought he was soso funny, saw him for about two minutes a couple of weeks ago and I just thought he was about as funny as Saturday night throwing the multicoloured yawn down a street full of totty.

That's the problem. Hitler or Gordon Brown could get a laugh with smut like that.

If that's how he mostly gets people going, he's no good.
