Who's harvesting?
We've taken in 100 tons but that's about 5% if that and the rain in east anglia has put us back so far that were going to need to lease another combine if we don't get a run of hot weather.
Completely against the odds this is one of my favourite posts/threads for ages. We've taken in 100 tons but that's about 5% if that and the rain in east anglia has put us back so far that were going to need to lease another combine if we don't get a run of hot weather.
Not sure why, it just tickles me.
It has never even occured to me that farmers have internet hay boast-offs.

I don't think it was a boast, it was more a "this weather has screwed us and we've only been able to collect 5% of our [crop]"

Only farmers who'll be making money this year on grain will be those who have spare capacity with their dryers to sell to others.
Was talking to one old boy the other day who said it looks great from a distance but once you're in the field it's really thin and the last few weeks rain has put moisture content to the point where it'll cost a fortune to make it good to feed, let alone milling.

Didn't that happen last year? So much for the "amazing summer"
Might be talking out my backside but I'm fairly sure it's best if it rains like buggery and then get seriously hot. This year we've had it the wrong way round for them. It's worrying that all the basket weavers seem to have disappeared this week and are working away in a cliff side field.
Fire wood's gone up in price as well.
Why can't i fricking type today
