Not an attempt to win the most bizarre thread title sadly, but the reality of my life at the moment.

Mother in Law has been seriously ill for months, so we have all had months of hospital visits, struggles with the hospital, struggles with the father-in-law, anguish over her treatment, rushing to convert the house, wait in for health visitors etc etc. Biggest worry for Mrs B&B of late has been that Mum is home but hasn't been very stable physically or mentally leading to tears, worry and general malaise. All work, social life, shopping, haircuts, baths, holidays, housework, meals and sex(or lack of) has revolved around the health and temper of MIL. Sadly she hasn't been well or been eating this last week which has made things even worse.

My life has been get up early, get work done, call to see how Mum is every 2 hours, run OH to the various errands ( OH can't drive), visit Mum, try to tempt Mum to eat, fail, have evening of tears. Repeat.

Today she had POACHED EGG ON TOAST for breakfast and the cloud has lifted. I hate to be selfish but I may even get sex tonight. I just hope Mrs B&B doesn't decide to use the time to clean the bathroom or go to Asda.

Thank fk for poached egs.

You can cheat: drop it into a mug of water and nuke it in the microwave smile

Your wife's mum sounds like she is seriously ill and the first thing you want to do as she regains her strength is bang her.... At least wait until she can stomach a few eggs.

or a pan of boiling water with salt and a drop of vinegar to make sure it stays bound

is boiling an egg that difficult?

Eggcellent... sounds like you might crack on tonight. Don't be to pushy or you might be walking on egg shells with the Missus.

Poached eggs eh?

Imagine the effect if you gave your MiL a foot massage, maybe a card trick, then a slow fireman's outfit striptease to Lionel Ritchie's "3 times a lady"

Think out of the box B&B.
