I want to travel by tram to East Croydon station then to Picadilly Circus. I'm unsure if it's going to be cheaper for me to buy a day travelcard for £7.50 OR to use my Oystercard as there are a lot of individual journyes and I'm unsure if the oystrcard canbe used fro the overground rain from East Croydon to London Bridge.

Anyone know the answer please?

You can't use Oyster PAYG from East Croydon into London Bridge yet unfortunately.
I am pretty sure that the travelcard will be cheaper than the individual journies as it will be £3 alone for LB->Pic->LB

IIRC once you have spent the equivalent amount on the OC as it would be to buy a peak/off peak travel card (depends when you start your journey) then it's free for every journey after that point

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/tickets/Get...

ETA - read the bit about price cap on page 3

Thanks guys. That seems ridiculous that you can't use an Oystercard for that overline journey. So looks like I'll be better ff buying a paer travelcard to cover all the journys instead of an Oystercard/paper ticket mix. Madness!

Oh goody. I like these threads.

Ok, Ive got one.
If I buy one apple for 50p and give the man (or woman, no sexism here) a £1 coin, how much will I get back?

I am praying that someone here can tell me or Ill be pretty lost TBH.

Ooh, trowelling on the sarcasm.

She wants some help in that department too, if you'd care to pop over to Homes & DIY.

Sarah, not all overland train companies are aligned with the Oyster card system yet. I travel in from one stop outside the 6 zones of the underground on First Capital connect and can't do so yet.

I think Boris was to do something about this, but it looks like he's just bogged down with a whole heap of st to be honest.

You could always tram onwards to wimbledon and then district line but that would take ages.

Thanks for all your help folks. Ended up getting a travelcard at £7.50 to include everything. It's madnessthat we can't use Oyster cards on the overland trains in central London, but a Travelcard works on them!

I normaly browse the travel/oyster card forums but I am soooooo glad I can do this st from Pistonheads now - Oystercardheads speed matters on public transport with a travel card.

scratchchin

OP - Can't you just buy a car and drive or use the one you have.
