Google street view - How to get it to work?

Okay, I must be missing something here, I can't get Google Maps to show me street views.

In some parts of London it works but if I put in say 'Birmingham' into Google Maps, all I see is the normal overhead view. There doesn't seem to be any option to bring up Street View.

How do you activate Street View on Google Maps?

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

If the roads are highlighted blue, then you can use streetview, if they aren't then then you can't.

You drop the little man from the zoom bar on to the raod and that'll let you see the streetview.

Why the fk would you want to look at Birmingham?

Drag the little orange man from the top of the zoom bar and drop him where you want to view on the map. Only in areas highlighted in blue though.

Birmingham should be censored IMHO.

Imagine the embarrassment if people in other countries were to see it.

Ah, because I was riding (a pushbike) down a lane recently and the Google Street Map car went past slowly and the narcissist in me couldn't resist a lookup....

Don't upset me anymore, I'm forced to live in Brum due to the missus. I'm from Sydney, Aus and would take the family back there at the drop of a hat!
The only thing that cheers me up these days is looking for a picture of myself on Google Street View

(oh, and in UK can you drive pretty quick most of the time, in Australia you can't AND don't dare to...)
