Even a crap one will usually cover 30ft. never really measured the distance though but they are very good.

i once spent 2 hours in a lecture theatre making/launching paper planes, then having to work out the flight characteristics. mine were ste, but my mate managed a 100:1 glide ratio.

for office japery, i prefer laggy bands.

Difficult to explain, but tension them on only one side. Astonishing the difference it makes.

This one actually works pretty well if you get it right.

And it's easy to build, once you've mastered the one tricky fold.

+1

... and p u s h into the throw for maximum distance/ accuracy!
we get the really big ones, two or three knotted together with a fair tension can make it 30ft across the office and take out a pot of coffee.

new boss wants to know why we order a box every month with no logical reason for their use. he needs a banding.

+1 I had one of these, it caused quite a bit of interest in the office. Some looked good, whilst others flew well, but looked a bit pants..

Not clicked on the link, but if it's the one I'm thinking of, you can get the thing out of the window and off hundreds of yards away smile

I chucked one of these off the cliff at Ronda in Spain, it caught a thermal and started turning in a wide circle before zooming off, it stayed up for ages

I only had one shot, I presume you mean taking the mouse out of the screen and round the other side to get max speed though?

These are the two I normally make:

The one labelled A is fantastic for air-time, thrown straight up it will linger in the air for ages, performing lazy circles and catching the breeze well.

Type B on the other hand is for distance. It will fly arrow straight every time (thanks to the deep keel) and glides very flat (thanks to the zigzag in the wings). Launched gently from the back of a 400 seat lecture theatre it will comfortably sail over the lecturers head and hit the screen at the front.

114.029 so far rank 19053. It would appear to be all about the release point when you re enter the game screen...

110.689m here and i thought that was good but with 27thousand people ahead of me I cannot imagine what the max possible speed is!
