I left a couple of packets of unused contact lenses in the bathroom in direct sunlight over summer(NZ) and am wondering if they will still be ok to use.

Told you it was a random question. (I recall there being an optician or two here)

I have thought of going up to Scotland to do the same thing.(I know, typical Kiwi/Aussie)

It's a freakin' nice day down here if that helps?

Kiwi/Aussie really are just the nomads of the bar trade. Its also a balmy 12oC here and pissing it down.

OH yeah its summer we saw 30oC for 5 days in may its pissed it down or been cold since.

As long as the packets are still sealed (in thier original packing) and they haven't exeeded their expiry dates then yes, they will be fine.

What's random about the question? Didn't you come on here to ask that specific question? If you knew what you were going to ask, how is it random?
I'd understand if you had a hat full of contact lens questions and you picked one out at random and posted it. But I don't think you did.
Anyway, I have no idea about the contacts, but I just don't like the word random, unless something is actually random.
