Hi

Does anyone know what the twin-engined plane, about the size of an Islander is doing circling at all hours of the day and night to the South and East of Manchester? I know GMP have a fixed-wing but it stays up for ages at a time so if they are chasing crims they aren't much use.

There's one that does the rounds over here at night (macclesfield). Rumour has it that it's checking for unusual heat signals to catch people growing dope.

Got to be the same one, I wondered if that was what it was doing. The only thing is, it's up during the day as well.

The Mac one also looks out for speeders (during the day) on the Cat and Fiddle.

I've seen that one irresponsibly low over Wilmslow as well, but this thing just sits at height and circles.

I saw it circling over the centre of Manchester one evening a couple of months ago.
