I was just wondering what the general opinion is on fvck buddies?

Is it just a bit of harmless fun between two consenting adults or is it a minefield of problems?

The general consensus is that one person wants more than sex, and should be avoided. I'd go for it.

Minefield of complete head fcensoredk proportions.

I know a few people who have tried this in the past. Works for a bit and then it gets complicated. All down to communication I suppose, but always seems to end in tears as one side expects / wants more than the other (either in commitment or freedom). The reason why we have developed with monogamous relationships is because it works - it rarely doesn't and billions of people worldwide cannot be wrong.

"Just a bit of harmless fun between one consenting adult and another one with a different agenda."

I think finding someone wanting exactly the same thing (despite what they say) is very rare.

gotta admit I'm new to the whole fk buddy thing and having had a little dabble, I dont mind the idea.

Neither of us seems to want anything more and there's no commitment at all and despite the fact that I thought it would be complicated when we meet up at parties and such, it hasn't seemed to affect our friendship at all

My opinion is that it's a ludicrous idea. Why wouldn't you want more if she's a nice girl? I wouldn't go anywhere near a girl who just wanted a shag. They're called slags, aren't they?

I am now settled down with a lovely missus, but before I met her I used to get around a bit. At one point I was shagging this bird twice a week who obviously was more into it than I was.

She called me up when I was on the way home from a drunken night out so I went round for a bit of fun. When it was all over I think she could tell I wasn't really that bothered about being there as I was teeing off with my dad at 8.45 that morning and wanted a good nights kip. "You can go if you don't want to stay" says she. So I jump up and go to get dressed.

Cue absolute hysterics from her and, without going into to much further detail, a severely bruised arm with 1/2 inch deep bite mark.

Moral of the story, don't have a fk buddy. Or, if you do, make sure you at least stay the night with them hehe

I found they also answer to the names: Emma and Donna quite often too.

If you're narrow or closed minded...yeah

But sometimes you meet someone who ends up a friend, but maybe JUST MAYBE she's afraid of commitment due to being hurt, but craves intimacey with someone she can trust?

Maybe the male is the one afraid to commit?

We're not talking random night club humps, but two friends enjoying each other

If a closed mind is to want more than a shag, then yes.

If you do it right, and are clear from the outset - it can be great.

They always seem to get in the way when you meet a potential GF. Then when you have a new GF you still receive texts from your old FB as you never actually brake up. Takes some explaining that it's just your old FB.

That's the thing:

I've just come out of an 8 year relationship which is seemingly ending a bit badly at the moment. I'm one who likes and craves commitment, but I know I'm not emotionally ready to commit to anyone at this moment in time.

The lady in question is a good friend of mine, we share many interests and we both enjoy each others company, but neither of us wants a relationship for pretty much the same reasons.

I find the idea quite liberating given my past history of being a commitment-a-holic rofl

I'm not one to sleep around either, it's not like I have a string of them or anything smile

That's pretty much what we agreed we would do. We were straight down the line from the first moment smile
