Since when is reading out texts from random people newsworthy??? What do I care what Dave in Northants thinks about the recession or what Julie in Dartford thinks about Ravi Bopara's batting form?

I know that these rolling news channels have hours and hours to fill but will someone please tell the editors that reading out these texts is the moment that UK news journalism officially scraped the bottom of the barrel. What next? Live coverage from peoples' living rooms as they react to peoples thoughts via text on the news?

I want the news reported to me. Give me the facts, the information and if they want the possible ramifications. Just dont read out what complete strangers are thinking (usually Daily mail reading morons).
