In reading the Air Conditioning thread - does PH attract obtuse people, or are they content in being 'backward' as if to antagonise other members for the effect of causing arguments

It does seem to harbour more than a fair share of pathetic alpha-male 'I know best' clientel. I guess sitting behind a keyboard does that to some people..

Welcome to the internet. Where people say things to cause a reaction.
Mostly things they wouldn't say without the protection of their keyboard.

Edit: Beaten to it, by gobby, loud-mouthed, opinionated bigots winkbiggrin

That. People can be who they want to be, and I've found are rarely like it in real life.

OK, why does it antagonise you when people have different choices from you?

Why on earth would you start such a pointless thread, the most annoying thing is I wasted 30 seconds of my life reading it.

To be fair, I think some of the input on PH lends itself to, or even actively encourages, obtuseness.

I think some people just have to reply to every post, but as their intelligence level is below par they come across as obtuse where in relaity they are just deeply misguided saddos.

I mean why do people have such a massive post count?
Shirley they don't know that much.

That's exactly what i believe.

At least PH doesn't put up with the amount of anger and agression that you see on other forums, which can be the result of someone asking the most innocent of questions.

I agree to a point - however, The Gordon Brown top ten financial stuff thread showed one guy being extremely obtuse regarding knowing whether the gold markets were at the point for X amount of time. Probably the worse I had seen for a while.
