Parking for V&A museum - stuff to do in London?
Discussion
Ello - is there any reasonably secure (but relatively inexpensive) parking near the V&A / Science Museum?
I'm hoping to visit one of these this weekend and will have the TVR, so I'd rather not leave it somewhere dodgy. I don't know London at all.
Also looking for worthwhile / cool things to do on a Sunday for London newbies. Is the London Eye worth the money?
Prefer to leave the TVR somewhere secure that doesn't cost a tank of petrol, and tube it around if possible.
Any areas to definitely avoid?
Thanks chaps.

If you are going Saturday, try here. http://www.londontown.com/LondonInformation/Travel...
TVR friendly, its often full of embassy limos and other exotica - some under covers. You have to leave your keys with them. Cheaper then NCP, just about.
Most pay & display meters round here are for up to 4 hours duration now, they take either credit card directly or over the phone. I think its £3 per hour IIRC. Saturday to 18:30, Sunday free all day.

Queen's gate and exhibition road would be your best bet, I (think) they're free on Sundays. Most streets to the sides of these are residential only though. Lots of exotica about, but generally most of them have had their fair share of bumps and grazes... something to bare in mind. Having said that, it's a pretty safe area.
There's also a few garages off Kensington High Street which are within easy walking distance, although I'm not sure on the charges because I don't drive in central London
Good luck!
edited to add, these guys have a place off Kensington High St - on young street I believe:

Couldn't vouch for the quality and/or prices though

Go to british musuem, donation to get in and pretty awesome place to have a walk around
But its a walk and a half from Exhibition Road SW7 to Great Russell St WC1
but
one of the greatest repositories in the world. Back in SW7, the Science museum, Natural History museum and V&A will certainly fill several days.
Dependant on sex and age of those travelling depends on what and where you might go.
The Royal Albert Hall do tours at a cost but I have never quite understood the appeal of seeing an empty hall being hoovered ready for a concert.
Not much in the way of food or refreshments outside of museums immediately in the locale either.
The London Duck Tour is fun, and it looks as though there might still be some availability for Sunday.
I don't want to spend all of Sunday in a museum - just thought perhaps either the V&A or Science would be good for a couple of hours, then find something less studious to keep 'er indoors happy.
So, anywhere you can hire a rowing boat for a potter on the Thames? Actually, I guess the river is a bit big around that area for that.
Which brings me to...

Ah yes! Very cool. Saw this on a thread last year. Looks great, but £20... hmmm... will have to see about that.V8S said:

Walk up into Hyde Park and take a boat on the Serpentine - I think they do rowers...... So, anywhere you can hire a rowing boat for a potter on the Thames? Actually, I guess the river is a bit big around that area for that.
Lunch at the Lido Cafe, quick look at the Diana memorial fountain, visit the Serpentine Gallery.

All day in the Science museum and you'll still miss stuff. Love the place. And it's completely free isn't it?
