Some trouble for this...
Discussion
Friend of mine left a company yesterday but still knew the code to log into their voicemail - standard 4 digit pin that nobody changed.
Overnight he called up using the 141 withhold code and changed all the directors voicemail greetings to various Family Guy scenes.
I pointed out that it was going to be quite obvious who it was and whether or not he had withheld his number, they may just be interested in taking it further.
He's going to jail isn't he!?

I like that!
There are 16 directors apparently, 13 of which had the standard 1234# security code.
So I hope those 13 do have sense of humours.
He didn't particularly need the references as was leaving to set up on his own but I was more concerned from a legal standpoint? I think he regrets it as he can't reset them and the directors needn't notice until someone points it out to them. It could be there for days.

That has got to be one of the stupidest things I have ever heard!
Might have seemed a laugh at the time, but what are clients going to think when they hear it? Are they going to 'get' the joke? Or are they going to think "Forget it, I'd rather deal with a company who takes me seriously!"
What other systems did he have access to? I bet they won't think that having to pay your IT dept while they audit their systems and try to figure out if he's redirected the backups to /dev/null 'for a laugh'?
If I was the company in question, I would tot up the cost of the damage, send him a bill and withold it from his notice and holiday pay.
