I hear three main variations.

1. Wenns-day, favoured by newsreaders.
2. Weddens-day, favoured by most people I think.
3. Wed-nes-day, favoured by me. You know, cos it's spelt that way.

Newsreaders though, they have people telling them how to pronounce words. So is option 1 the correct version, with its silent "D"?

I'm not a newsreader but I say Wenns-day. So does everyone I know..

Maybe it's regional?

I don't know anyone who says 3, apart from you.

I do know someone who says "plarstic" instead of "plastic"

now that's odd.

Huh, it seems the Wennsdays have it. I should havee made this a poll. And asked for an indication of region.

We did 'Days of the Week' in our first term at school. Maybe wait three weeks until you go back and then ask teacher?

Can anyone here tie shoelaces?

Aye, that's probably it. Northern Irish living in Scotland, they're all Weddensdayers here.

Yes, you need to remove your hand from your cock first though.

The correct pronounciation is the one found in the OED.

Everything else, regional or otherwise is wrong.
