I've never been to bothered by Bullfighting but watching the old boy plunge his sword to give the Coup de'gras to the bull had me feeling a little sorry for the bull.

I think bull fighting whilst showing talent on the part of the bullfighter is still a sick 'sport'. It's not as if the bull can walk away, just a case of how long it takes to wear it out before killing it.

I love it when on rare occasions a fighter gets mauled but I'd like to see a few more of them get killed then perhaps the 'sport' would die out.

If it's to be a "sport" then each side must stand a chance of winning. To even things up, I suggest permitting myself and my cross-bow to side with the bull.

IT is simply animal cruelty, disguised as entertainment. Quite frankly, if people are entertained by this, it does not say much for the human race.

I think you've pretty much set a challenge there, what could the bull be replaced with that would have more of a fighting chance?

A pissed of Rhino? 40 mph charge and skin up to 5cm thick?

Not sure thats any better ethically though.

EU: 'Dear Spain, please stop bullfighting because it's contrary to our animal welfare standards al laid down in Directive 2984759328745'.

Spain: 'fk off'

EU: 'Oh, OK, we'll go and pick on the UK, they always do what we say.'

Completely wrong, even though he was old I still wanted the bull do him a nasty injury. As the bull never wins I didn't even bother watching.

Another bull fighter. The only people that die will be the ones who knew what they were getting in to, thats about as humane as bloodsports get.

Essentially, this is what happened. Bullfighting is dying out in Spain, gradually. The younger generations realise its barbaric and backward looking, so don't go, in the main. The older generations, just like the bulls are dying out. No problems, demonstrations or unrest.

Same was happening here with foxhunting, until banning it made it more popular.

Not too keen on the old bull fighting thing. If you want to see bulls die then you could always buy a season ticket for your local abbatoir.

I've no problem with killing things to eat them , but *as a spectacle* Bullfighting - like bear-baiting and dog/cock/etc fights - are simply barbaric: proxy battles, bread and circuses etc.

MInd you, I'd watch Petrolheads with tridents vs Dieselistas with nets ...

I watched that film the other day as well. Brilliant. The fight scene is a classic.
