Stress, I could do with a bit less.

Although some matters are in better shape than a year ago, I really could do with some stress relief - so I'll burden you lot with a stories for a change.
1. I have twin boys of eighteen, both are supposed to be at University. One has decided to disappear to Australia (from NZ), and we have heard nothing from him for three weeks - and his bank account hasn't been touched. Can't think of anything to do!
2. Chasing ex business partner for over fifty thousand pounds, at least we have a court date on......September 11th!. I'm having to spend a lot of time preparing all the paperwork, and if there is one thing I can't abide....it's paperwork. aaaaagh
3. Wife has just left me. Hopefully this isn't as bad as it sounds - she has actually gone off on a sort of trecking holiday in places like Outer Mongolia and Tajikistan for six weeks. So that leaves me sharing a house with the mother in law.
4. Another (not yet ex) business partner is being a royal pain in the arse - money going out faster than it comes in. At least he's providing the vodka for the "meeting" tomorrow.
5. The clutch release has failed in the Discovery, for the third time in three weeks, do you know how difficult it is to get the master cylinder off? Yet again I had to rescue the twin son who is still here and drive the Disco back (only a few miles) with no clutch release - giving way at roundabouts is tricky.
6. 20 year old daughter has tonsilitus.
7. At least the 3 litre Chateau Cardboard is reduced to seven quid at the moment.
As usual I have a couple of speeding tickets and a parking ticket floating about - but fighting these is a form of stress relief in New Zealand so no need to add them to the list.
But at least spring is just around the corner.
And we don't have Gordon Brown as PM

GB as PM.....hope things improve for you....if not....consider suicide....Number 1 is the only one which would stress me out! That one puts the others in perspective. As such, get that one sorted and the relief will be more than enough to chill you on the others. Good luck!

Where was he last? did he give any clue where he was headed for next?Post up in the Aussie Section of PH, maybe someone can help... ?
The best piece of advice I have ever read was to ask yourself, "Will this matter in a year?"
1. Ask your other son to check with their friends. Someone may have had a message from him on a social networking site.
2. A necessary evil but at least you have a court date so it is being dealt with!
3. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
4. Pull him up on this at your meeting and worry about it then.
5. Temporary problem
6. Temporary problem, probably won't matter next week
7. Super!

If my son had not touched his bank account or been in touch with me for 3 weeks and was on the other side of the world I wouldn't be on this forum writing this thread, nor would I have any spare worry for 2 onwards. :-O Maybe that means I'm going to be too over protective when my son is older? hmm...

Yes, that would concern me the most.Number 2 is easily dealt with if you focus on the £50k potential outcome into your bank account!

op is in NZ so not that bad, just like someone from the uk being in Moscow! I suggest you upgrade your slave cylinder in your disco for an improved Paddocks one.

ah ok, not quite the other side of the world then, but still, another country, 3 weeks, no bank activity, I'd be worried as hell even if he was in the same country under the same circumstances!That was one!
We are supposed to be reassuring the op not panicking him. Just lie and say everything is a ok.
