I want to get a good quality pair of boots for this coming winter in Vienna. We get masses of snow, rain and a lot of salt on the roads so it plays havoc on my footwear.

I was thinking of getting a pair of Cat Colorado boots but what else can others recommend? They need to be comfy, warm (but not too warm!), and easy enough to drive with comfortably.

Timberlands, and keep the leather fed properly. Solid as rocks, and waterproof to the laceholes

Yup, looking at those too....their chukka boots look pretty good too. A little more comfy than the full-on boots I'd expect.

I've got a pair of these:

They have lasted so well I can't remember what model they are, or where I got them from!

They certainly are comfortable, warm when you need them to be, usually dry.. oh and they don't smell!

I can certainly vouch for the quality - however when I've taken them to ski resorts in the past they didnt seem to be very grippy despite having really chunky soles.

What about some US military Corcorans.

Not quite the same style as the Cat's or Timberlands......(I did I mention a little style is a bonus!!!) wink

I'll have to use them in the office too and although I wear a pair of jeans and a shirt, some tactical boots will unlikely look so good! hehe

Can't Afford Timberlands?

Seriously though, I would reccomend a pair of Karrimor KSB's, have had a pair for donkeys years and they have never let me down.

EDIT - Just read your last post, may be a bit outdoorsy looking for the office.

Walking boots like Meindls? Mine have been in all kinds of weather over the last year and a half (first year of that being worn every day) and are still perfect.

I was really hoping it was going to be something like this! I wish we had some of these for my wife's cats! Then maybe we wouldn't have leather furniture torn to shreds. irked

I have these boots ( my friends call them the DesBos apparently they look like a desert lesbian boot?)

I have had them for 6 years and they are still good, I have just replaced the laces smile

It seems that way. I was certainly disappointed when I read the OP.

I've had a pair of Rockport boots for about 10 years. They are still going strong. I've left them outside for the winter one year, and never treated them, yet still they are still watertight and comfortable.

Brilliant! Love the way it falls off the end of the table in a proper comedy style.
