Why is it that the time being a member of PH seems to matter to quite a few people here?
How many times do I read "these idiots who have been a member for just x months come here and say this or that".
How is someone's opinion who has been a member for 5 months any less valuable than that of someone who has been on here for 20 months? Especially when it does not relate to semantics of PH.
I could understand if this was a mechincs' club or the time on PH forums would directly translate into experience like in a job, but being an old timer on PH forum offers no advantage to cars or motoring in general. After all you are just as likely to have a formula one engineer to register on here in the next month as a 100 month "old" Phers spouting utter crap.

What would you know you have only been here 7 months! How many times do I read "these idiots who have been a member for just x months come here and say this or that".

If he'd asked whether people who'd been here for a few years has suddenly started posting up crap rants to fit in, it wouldn't have made a lot of sense, would it?

Shut up Noob!!!!
Anyway, I think it isn't so much when someone has only been a member 2 months, its when they've been a member for 2 months and they come on spouting stuff which indicates they don't know what they are talking about.
More common examples would be:
- Clarksonisms - spouting something Jeremy Clarkson once said and claiming it as your own opinion.
- Commenting on cars you have never been in, let alone driven.
- Talking about modding but only referring to cosmetic mods such as chrome windscreen spoilers or similar.
- Talking in one post about your new bentley, and in another about buying your first car, and then another looking for help choosing a company car.
I've been on this site for over 2 years, but am a genuine enthusiast who states his own opinions and listens to others and I've never experienced any backlash (healthy debate certainly). Its when someone clueless comes on with an attitude that they get slated by the 'older' members.
