Have I hit rock bottom?

On taking some mid morning exercise I noticed some ripe blackberries in the hedge rows and proceeded to have a free feed, very nice they were too.
It only occurred to me after that most people would have to buy these from Tesco and would consider my actions akin to that of a tramp or at the least pikey.
Is it wrong to be foraging in hedgerows for free food?.

My friend told me the best dropping out of college story.
On his second week of college he only wanted to do art, but he had to do 3 courses.
He went to art and did work, but when he sat down in the other classes he put up his hand and asked if he could just "Not do the subject". To which he was told no.
So he put up his hand again and asked to go to the toilet.
While walking home he found a blackberry bush and just ate and ate blackberries until he couldn't eat any more. Then he laid down looking at the clouds until the end of college.
For then next 2 weeks he went to "college" with his fishing rod.
His parents only found out when the college rang them.

Better to take them home and wash them first.
But the best food is often locally gathered that day.
Wild mushrooms, locally gathered that day often find their way onto the menu of good restaurants; and very nice too.
If you found it in your garden, you would. As long as it's not stealing then why leave it for the birds?
