Rewarding GCSE results ?
Discussion
My son Joe will tomorrow get some GCSE's.
Possibly 4 A*'s, 5 A's and a C
Or possibly not.
He's worked VERY VERY hard over 5 years at High School and I want to mark the hardwork with some reward. Also I don't want to reward the actual results, so none of this £X for a A £Y for a B etc.
I'd rather not give him cash (he's got more than me anyway), but some token item.
He has most things that a 16 year old lad wants.
I'm working away so whilst the result come out tomorrow, It will be Friday before I see him.
Any suggestions apart from a subscription to a porn channel.

Has he had any driving training? I know it wouldn't be on public roads. Might be fun to get something airfieldy (dunno what the age limits are, but I'm assuming as it's private land etc etc)
The one at Dunsfold starts at 15, I believe. Having said that, the kid driving one way on a Pug 106 as 2 M5s and 2 ZT V8s thundered the other way towards him at 90ish looked a damned sight younger than that!
Why don't you want to reward the results? I'd say it's a great motivation for his A-levels (I presume that's what he's doing with those grades?).
I'd say a watch may be a bit too sentimental for someone that age - maybe more appropriate for someone 18 or 21?
Has he got a hobby, such as biking or computing that you could buy him an upgrade for?

When it was coming up to my GCE's (It was a long time ago) I wasn't too conscientious about classwork/homework so my father decided to bribe reward me for every one I got. Turns out that the lessons had sunk in and I did rather better than he expected. I got enough to buy my first car!
