Disabled Toilets

The disabled parking debate has got me thinking - do people feel the same about disabled toilets? They're generally larger and you get complete privacy and, having no disabled people at work, I use the work one - if we had anyone disabled in the office I would never use it.

Is that wrong? I'd never think about parking in a disabled spot, but the toilet seems different to me....

I have only used the disabled ones in my work place when the cubicles were full and I was prairie dogging

I have done in the past, and often use disabled toilets in pubs etc when they are on the same floor. They are always cleaner for a start. Also always use them with our 3 year old - much easier to manage, although he can often work the door more easily.

Never received abuse for it!

If i've got a turtles head and there are no other free cubicles then yes, i'll use the disabled bog.

I use it most of the time, its closer, bigger and I can't hear the next mans bowels opening.

At my old place i used them all the time for changing out of my cycling gear.

I only use them if the others are full or dirty.

I wonder what the ratio of disabled toilets is to people who have a disabiltiy compared to the ratio of normal bogs to abled bodied folk.

I'm pretty sure that are not meant to be 'reserved' for those with disabilities, just accessible to them.

I use the one in our building all the time. It's huuage and very clean and much nicer to use. I am not squashed into a tiny cubicle. We call it our GIS exec loo

I once pulled the alarm bell by accident and didn't realise. Very embarassing!

Went downstairs to the disabled, joy.

Me too. The rail is great for hanging your jacket on and you really can "let go" when you are in one as there will be nobody to hear you in the next cubicle!

The main drawback for me is that I can never see myself in those bloody mirrors unless I bend my body into a weird angle. And no, I am not vein, I just like my tie to be straight!

See the one I used the other day had a fk off mirror next to the John, so there I was straining away and all I could see was myself.

almost everyone uses the disabled bog at work since it is bigger, cleaner, more modern and the blokes loo is tiny and the lights don't work.

If I'm out with my daughter, she's 6 by the way, and she needs to use the loo I always look for a disabled one, they are always cleaner and there's more room, It's better that taking her into the gents where some tramp has been sat for half an hour.
