I've been royally rogered by the Ex, advice needed
Discussion
Difficult one this, need the wise heads of pistonheads, i've had to change my log in for this thread.
Will keep it brief, I'm 42 nowlived in London for 20 years, Met the missus 8 years ago, Married two years later, child 3 years ago and bought a house a year after the childs birth in Feb this year went off to stag do (with some irish mates my missus does not know) in temple bar dublin, call from the missus about 1am hows it going bla bla bla and i do recall her asking what bar I was in (which I didn't think at the time why, but now think odd as she had never been to dublin) anyway a hour later a busty 23 year old walks in and slowly edges her way to me, we talk and leave together, she did call her "mother" to say she won't home til abit later and six hours later she leaves my hotel room.
Get home, week later wife says she wants to split as I have been unfaithful
and produces photo of me and bird entering hotel lobby arms together, I'm stunned and admit it happened and she's says it's been going on a long time (1st time since we met), so move out , find flat and three months down the line a call from a friend tells me he's heard she's been seeing someone else for two years, so it looks like i've been set up in a honey trap, lose my child and house and have to pay through the nose for 15 years..any advice appreciated....

First mistake, move back in its half your house.Edited by Cotty on Thursday 27th August 13:43
The fact you cheated on her will make no difference to the courts decision on the consent order (splitting of assets and periodical payments like maintenance etc.).
I'd suggest like others have said find a solicitor asap and work out what can be salvaged. The courts will be in favour of the one of you who has the kids though.
ETA if you are for real that is. Sorry for the doubt but such is the way of the P&P these days.

1. Don't ever cheat if you can't risk being found out.
2. Move back in. You should never have left in the first place. RUle number one when it comes to separation is that no matter how uncomfortable the situation is you NEVER leave the house if you have any sort of financial interest in it.
3. Sounds like this is going to be long, hard, messy and expensive. Get the best Solicitor you can afford and find out exactly where you stand. Best thing for both of you is to sit down and try to agree things between yourselves. It might help to remind her that anything you end up paying in Solicitors fees reduces the communal pot and therefore how much she will get.

ked if she left you for another bloke anyway - you'd still have to pay maintenance and divide your assets. You got a jump out of it though, so are better off than most.
But the profile created is over 1 month old - did you predict you were going to need an anonymous PH ID?
