Let me thnk about things I can't live without ...
My mobile (requires charging)
My TV/stereo/PS3/DVD player/DS/printer/digital camera
My cooker
My lighting
OK so I could 'perhaps' find ways round without the above but how on earth could I cope without my Electric Toothbrush?!?!?! Other necessaries have batteries

I would love to live somewhere with no mains water, electricity or gas.
No quarterly bills to pay and I could sort myself out very well thanks for a lot less than I am currently being robbed for.
Water, I would collect all the millions of gallons of rain that fall on me weekly and filter and store it.
Electricity, Simple, have a diesel generator for charging batteries and for use when you need lights or heat, It could be run on filtered chip oil, heating oil, filtered used engine oil or even red diesel. I spend a lot of time out of the house so its not like i need 24/7 light or heat.
Gas, not bothered at all by lack of gas, might have a bottle of calor gas for a little heater if I want a boost.
If my place was near a river I would put a water wheel in and create power from that, there are also solar panels to consider but they can be feeble and the tech is not up to scratch yet.

Since my earlier post I have decided i would have to have a huge genny, I Mig weld so the best thing i can think of buying is one of those fairground generators on a truck. that ought to do the job when i decide I simply have to weld.
