Friend's Alsation needs a home

OK, My friend has a 4 year old Alsation who, through no fault of his own is about to become homeless.
He's a lovely dog and she doesn't want to have to put him in a home, so if you know anyone after a doggy in the Stafford area let me know.

Please don't let the reputation of Alsations as guard dogs and the like put you off, either.

As a family we always had Alsations and they were the most amazing, gentle, loyal, intelligent and family protective animals you could ever wish for.

Another link for your friend if it comes to it. Rescue centres are often better than rehoming with someone off the internet as alot will do things like home checks etc to check the new home would be suitable.

I live in Stafford and would love to have him BUT we currently have two, which is our limit.

Another shout for these guys - I rescued via this site in the past and used to sit and read in amazement at the lengths some of these people would go to to help their 4 legged friends!

In my case I was a long long way from the dog I was going to rescue, so they asked someone from another rescue centre to visit on their behalf which they did and passed us fit to re-home.

Good luck, cant be easy having to give the dog up, whatever the circumstances.

Mine too. My wife used to be scared of them, but when she first moved in with me I was looking after one for my folks. Completely changed her opinion of the breed, and she missed him for ages when my folks took him back.

Agreed. My godparents had an Alsation when I was a kid and it was soft as ste, utterly loyal and well behaved.
I hope the little blighter finds a good home.

We have room for another dog as long as he is friendly towards other dogs, we have had Alsatians in the past.

Hope he finds a good home, love German Shepherds. I have had 4. Sadly all gone now, but am not currently in a position to take one of that age

Or, it could be that they will both have loads of fun playing in the garden together, and wombling around on walks together... It also has the added advantage of keeping the older dog (the rescue in this case) feeling younger as well....... Two dogs are better than one...

I'd love to but, when we got the cavalier, I promised I'd take him for 2 walks every day, pick up his st and train him, but I'm working away from home 5 days (4 nights) so unfortunately can not keep my promise. Wifey ain't going to walk 2 dogs is she ?
