Jacamo online clothing thing
Discussion
Has anyone seen their bloody annoying adverts?
In the terms at the bottom of the screen, it says a credit account will be opened...
Do people really open a credit account to buy clothes?!
I appreciate a credit card is basically the same thing, but...
Also it seems they are targeting the guy who wishes he was younger!
Their advert is s

So you have to use their credit to buy the clothes, even if you dont want to? Scandalous if soIn the terms at the bottom of the screen, it says a credit account will be opened...

I cant believe they havent been had up for this. Basically, you shop online for what you want (normally kids stuff in our case), you put all the stuff in your basket, then comes to paying where you must set up an account with them, this is obviously then an automatic Credit account. You CANNOT pay for the goods in advance, you must be billed for them, and must therefore have one of their credit accounts or 'store card' as they used to be called...
Then trying to pay if off you receive an almost instant semi threatening letter telling you how much you owe and it should be cleared asap. You could obviously pay the minimum payment, but lord alone knows what the rates would be on that.
We chose to shop via this method as we wanted the clothes available in the UK, but arent able to physically shop in the UK. Following this experience and the complete lack of any customer support via phone or email we will never use Next again. Its another trap where weak minded people will continue to buy what they like the look of and end up paying for it for months or years afterwards.
FFS Have just checked terms and conditions Next http://www.next.co.uk/WinTC.asp#LID=01_99_02 Longest T&C's I've ever bloody seen!
You don't have to open an account but if you do check out the interest rate!
Edited Sorry it's not Interest Rate it's "Service Charge"

Very true!
It is obviously aimed at poor people who wish they were younger... PH : Sweeping Generalisation matters!

The advert makes it pretty clear they see their target audience as Cu-stards.
Indeedy.I just can't believe people must fall for it.
